Restaurant ads that bring in covers, not just clicks.
Google Ads and Meta ads for restaurants, built on a complete Google profile, a fast website and real reviews, and tracked to the things that matter: calls, direction requests, bookings and orders.
What are restaurant ads?
Restaurant ads are Google Ads and Meta ads aimed at people near you, tied to your Google profile, website and reviews, with tracking for calls, directions and bookings. You set the budget with us and see what each dollar returned. We cannot promise a return, and we show the numbers either way.
When paid ads work for restaurants, and when they do not
When paid ads work for a restaurant
- A new opening, a second location or a reopening. Organic reach takes time.
- A seasonal menu, an event or a limited offer. There is a clear date and a clear reason to act.
- A slow day or service you want to fill. A small campaign for Tuesday lunch is easy to measure.
- People already search for what you serve. Google Ads meets them while they decide.
- You already have strong content. A Reel guests respond to is worth promoting.
When they do not
- The Google profile is incomplete. Wrong hours or no photos lose people after the click.
- The website hides the menu. A slow PDF turns paid clicks into closed tabs.
- Nothing is being tracked. You cannot tell a working campaign from an expensive one.
- The goal is vague. “More customers” is not something a campaign can aim at. “More Friday bookings” is.
- Service is not ready for more guests. Ads fill a room but cannot fix consistency.
Paid ads multiply what is already there. They make a strong restaurant easier to find and a weak setup more expensive to run.
Google Ads for restaurants
Google reaches people already looking for somewhere to eat.
Search campaigns
Ads that appear when someone searches for what you serve and where, such as “brunch near me” or “thali Surrey”. We build tight keyword groups around your dishes and areas, add negative keywords so you do not pay for the wrong searches, and match the ad to what was typed.
Performance Max
Google’s automated campaign type, which runs across Search, Maps, YouTube and more from your assets. It suits restaurants with good photos and a clear goal, but needs close watching, so we set conversion goals carefully and review where the spend went.
Local and location goals
Location assets show your address and a directions button on the ad. Google has been folding older local campaign types into other formats, so we use what your account offers and aim it at a radius around your restaurant.
Calls and directions as goals
For many restaurants a phone call or a directions request is the real conversion. We track both, so a campaign is judged on diners reaching you, not clicks alone.
Meta ads for restaurants
Meta reaches people who were not searching, so the creative has to earn attention quickly.
Reels and short video ads
Ads built from real footage of your food and room, shot for phones. They work best when they look like content people choose to watch. See our food photography and video.
Offers and events
A tasting menu, a festival night or a lunch special. We show a specific offer to people near you for a set window, with one clear next step such as booking or ordering.
Local awareness
Campaigns aimed at a radius around your restaurant, to introduce you to people within a short drive who have never visited. We judge them on profile visits and direction requests, not reach alone.
Retargeting
Reaching people who watched your video, visited your Instagram or opened your menu page. With consent and correct tracking, this is often efficient spend, because they already know you. Our social media marketing feeds it.
How ads connect to your profile, website and reviews
An ad starts the journey. These four places decide whether it ends in a booking.
| Where the ad sends people | What the diner checks | What must be right first |
|---|---|---|
| Google Business Profile | Photos, hours, rating, directions, call button. | Complete categories, current hours and recent real photos. See profile optimization and local SEO for restaurants. |
| Your website | Menu, price range, booking or order button. | A fast mobile page with the menu as real text and one obvious next step. See restaurant website design. |
| Reviews | Recent ratings and what guests say. | A steady flow of genuine, recent reviews and thoughtful replies. Ads cannot repair a poor rating. |
Tracking: how you know it worked
If you cannot tell which ad produced which booking, you are guessing. Before launch we agree what counts as a result and set up the tracking.
- Phone calls. Call assets and call tracking count taps to call.
- Direction requests. Taps on “Directions” from ads and your Google profile.
- Bookings and orders. Clicks to your reservation or ordering page, and completed bookings or orders where the platform lets us measure them.
- Conversion tracking. Google Ads conversions and the Meta pixel or conversions API, with consent handled so guests’ privacy choices are respected.
- UTM tags. Every ad link is tagged, so Google Analytics shows which campaign, audience and creative sent each visit.
Some actions cannot be measured, such as a guest who sees an ad and walks in next week without clicking. We tell you where the gaps are and read the numbers alongside what your team sees on the floor.
What we manage each month
Month-to-month, in-house, no long-term contracts.
Set the goal and the budget
One clear goal, such as filling a service or promoting a menu, and a test budget you are comfortable with. You set the ad spend, separate from our management fee.
Build and launch
Campaigns, audiences, copy, creative from your own photography and video, landing pages and tracking. You see the ads before they go live.
Watch and adjust weekly
We check search terms, placements and creative, pause what wastes money and move budget to what produces calls, directions and bookings.
Refresh the creative
New dishes and new video each month, so the same people are not shown the same ad repeatedly.
Report in plain English
Spend, calls, direction requests, bookings and orders, what worked, what did not and what changes next.
Expectations, budget and mistakes
Honest expectations
The first few weeks are a learning period. We test audiences, offers and creative, so the first month is rarely the best one. Results depend on your food, location, offer, competition and the state of your profile and website.
We do not promise a return on ad spend or a number of bookings. We commit to the build, testing, tracking and reporting, and we show you the real numbers from your own accounts. If ads are not the right next step, we will say so.
Budget is a decision, not a formula. We start small, tied to one goal, and raise it only when the numbers justify it.
Common mistakes we fix
- Boosting posts instead of running campaigns. Boosting favours reach and likes over bookings.
- No tracking. Nobody knows what worked.
- Sending ads to a PDF menu. It loads slowly and has no booking button.
- Targeting a whole city. Guests usually come from nearby.
- Never checking search terms. Budget leaks to irrelevant searches.
Choosing a restaurant advertising agency
What to ask any restaurant advertising agency
- Will the ad accounts be in my name?
- Is the work done in-house?
- Do you report calls, directions and bookings, or only clicks?
- How is your fee set, and is it separate from the ad spend?
- Do you promise a return? (If yes, be careful.)
- Am I locked into a long contract? (We have none: it is month-to-month.)

Questions, answered.
Ours cover campaign strategy, Google Ads and Meta ads management, ad creative built from your real photography and video, landing pages, conversion tracking for calls, direction requests, bookings and orders, and a plain-English monthly report. We check your profile, website and reviews first, because weak pages waste the spend.
They can, under the right conditions: a clear goal, a complete Google profile, a website that works on a phone, honest reviews and tracking. They work best for a new opening, a seasonal menu, an event, a slow night or a second location. They work poorly as a rescue for a restaurant whose profile and website are not ready, and we will say so before you spend.
They do different jobs. Google Ads reaches people already searching, for example “brunch near me”, so it suits intent and booking. Meta ads reach people who were not searching but might enjoy what you serve, so they suit awareness, offers and events.
There is no honest universal number. It depends on your area, cuisine, what you are promoting and how many covers you need. We start with a modest test budget tied to one goal, read the results together, and only then suggest changing it. Ad spend is separate from our management fee, which we quote after a free audit.
No. Boosting is a shortcut with limited targeting, and it usually optimises for likes and reach rather than visits or bookings. Running campaigns in Ads Manager lets us choose the goal, audience, placements and tracking. Boosting a post that already performs can be a small test, not a strategy.
We set up conversion tracking for phone calls, direction requests, clicks to book or order, and completed bookings or orders where your system allows it. Every ad link carries UTM tags so Google Analytics shows which campaign sent each visit. Where a booking happens inside a third-party tool, we tell you what can and cannot be measured.
Clicks, calls and direction requests can appear within days of launch, but the first few weeks are a learning period, so we would not judge a campaign on its first week. We review monthly and change what is not working. We cannot promise a return.
No. Nobody can honestly guarantee that, and we would be wary of any agency that does. We commit to the set-up, testing, tracking and reporting, and we show you the real numbers from your own accounts each month, including the disappointing ones.
We set up ad accounts, the Google profile and tracking in your business’s name wherever the platform allows, so you can see everything. Engagements are month-to-month with no long-term contracts, and the work is done by our own in-house team.
You need a working version of both. Ads that land on a slow page, a PDF menu or a profile with wrong hours convert badly and cost more than they should. If the basics are weak, we fix them first or alongside the campaign.
